| The curriculum is designed to cover all core required topics for ASTMH certification and includes a laboratory component during the second block. Emphasizing the global nature of health and health care, there will be a focus on global health by systems (cardiology, GI, oncology, etc.) as well as tropical infectious diseases and public health. Refugee and migrant health, cross cultural health care and travel medicine are among the unique strengths of this course. Course content will emphasize case-based lectures and practical knowledge for practicing clinician and public health professionals.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and guest faculty from our affiliate international sites will contribute to the course, as well as several nationally-known non-governmental organizations in Minnesota.
The global health course can be taken by practicing providers in one or more week modules for CME credit.
